Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatry is a specialism focusing on the biomechanics of the foot and lower limb. Pains may have presented in this area, or further up in the hip or back. Post-natal changes can be temporary and helped by orthotics. With all presentations, we will aim to offer muscle strengthening and exercises to support better function and reduce the use of orthotics.
What is MSK Podiatry?
Podiatry is run by Rob Footitt
“Rob was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and professional. He clearly explained what the issue was and gave easy exercises to follow each day. The orthoses have really helped and are solving the overturned out feet.”

Assessments will be made of the existing shoes (it’s often helpful to bring a couple of pairs of shoes that you may wear for different purposes), range of movement of the joints in the leg, ankle and foot, gait analysis and some functional multi-directional movements to show how your loading patterns change with altered load.
Often, the result of a podiatric assessment is the provision of orthotics to help support or correct your biomechanics into better function.
Rob will often prescribe orthotics as a short term or partial solution, preferring to also provide education and exercises to correct the problem in a more active and long term solution.
