Rachel has a background in mental health, working as a Registered Mental Nurse in the community for almost twenty years. During this time, she trained in Auricular Acupuncture and Reiki, and ran a successful acupuncture group for mental health clients for over ten years.
Rachel trained in Reflexology in 2010 at the Oxford School of Reflexology in Wheatley, which taught the Inge Dougans method, incorporating Traditional Chinese Medicine 5 Elements and their 12 Meridians with the practice of reflexology. She is a full member of the Association of Reflexologists.
Rachel has completed further training including Aromatherapy for the Feet, Baby Reflex, and Finger Free Reflexology. More recently, she completed a Hot Stone Reflexology course, which helps enhance both the feeling of relaxation that the client experiences, and allows the reflexes to be worked more deeply.
Rachel also offers the Bowen Technique, a therapy whose gentle movements can have such powerful results in all areas of health, including muscular skeletal issues, pain relief, hormone imbalance, digestive disorders or stress.
Bowen is increasingly being used by athletes to help maintain a healthy body during training, and reduce risk of injury. As a runner herself, Rachel understands how important it is to keep the body in good condition in order not to get sidelined from the activities you love. She continues to attend further training in Sports Bowen in order to further develop her work within this area.
